computer repairman

why computer repair?

My first introduction to computers took place way back in 1986 or 1987 in the elementary school computer lab when I was in kindergarten. Those old green screen Macintoshes. Remember those? Back then it was only games, but as I've gotten older, as technology has improved, and as computers attained their current ubiquity, my skills and interest have grown. Nowadays, I can't imagine what I would do without my computer.

Using a computer is one thing, but fixing them is another. In college, I owned a Dell laptop. It was a decent computer and it served me well. Then the keyboard starting acting up on me, the touch pad stopped working, and my hard drive and memory became insufficient for my needs. So I did what any overconfident rookie would do. I explored. I started taking things apart and tried to play real close attention to where everything needed to go back. I bought some parts off eBay and made some changes. Then I put it back together, good as new. Now I'm a computer repairman, I told myself.

Later, I worked at a computer store and learned some more about what being a computer repairman is all about. Many times I've been called on, by family, friends, roommates, and co-workers to fix software and hardware issues. Now I'm confident enough to do it for hire.
